The end of week 10

After a manic last day with children in need.

Here's what we learnt this week!

How there are lots of different ways to style hair, 

how to create a really high pin up.

We look silly in our onesies!

Onesies are too hot to wear in college.

How to pin curl,

What effect they have on the hair.

Which famous people have pincurls.

How to hand our assignments in on time.

We want Lisa to mark them, NOW!

When some things look hard they can be easier than you think.

Everyone has personal stuff going on that can make them react to things differently than you expected.

How to do a mean pin up.

To get out of college quickly, when there is a fire drill.

Children in Need. Part two, the head shave

One brave lad from level 3  I.T had his head shaved for Children in Need.

Here he is.

It's going ..going

We got to have a go. Our first experince of clippers.

And.........GONE

WE THINK HE WAS A BIT SHOCKED!

All for a good cause and hair grows, doesn't it.

Children in Need day part one.

What a fabulous day we all had today.

It was children in need and we decided to raise money by offering the college staff and students to have their hair curled, straightened or plaited.

We all decided to wear our onesies!

We soon managed to bet some willing clients.

We really enjoyed it and raised £129.75 for Children in Need! 

Making posters.

Blow drying, pincurling, setting, curls, hair ups and finger dried hair were the theme for todays theory lesson.

So was scissors, glue, paper and lots of hair magasines.

Lisa teamed us up and we made posters of the different ways to style hair so that we understand the differences when we come to make our style books!

We worked really well, helping each other if we found a style another team needed.

A trip to Alan Howards.

Today it was Our trip to Alan Howards.

We were all excited about going.

And were eager to look around.

Then our trainer gave us colouring ideas and lots of product information.

And gave us a lesson on colouring.

We took advantage of all the products to help us with our assignments with first hand professionals to advice us. We all had a good look round and asked lots of questions.

FIRE!

At the end of our class, Lisa had gathered us together to talk about the session and what happend?

Our first fire drill.

Everybody out!

We made our way to the fire exit and to our assembly point. 

Emily was a bit camera shy today! 

At least it wasnt raining, we were soon back inside, safe and warm.

What a busy day!

We did loads today.

First Lisa showed us a new way of doing hair up. Setting a ponytail on rollers to gain height and create a smooth look. We soon got the hang of it.

Then we learnt how to put pincurls in the hair and what look they produced.

Lots of celebraties have their hair pincurled like Christina Aguilera and Beyonce!

Under the dryers they went!

Then we practised using heated applicances, curling tongs, wands and cloud 9s

Once our heads were dry, we started to pin them up.

We think we did well. What do you think?

We can't wait to do this on a models hair!
