Holding all sections at 180 degrees is the most important bit to remember.

Take the first section at the crown,

Work your'e way to the front using the guidelines to help you.

Work your'e way to the front then cross check it in the opposite direction to you where you have cut it.

Section off the back

Take centimetre sections straight up at 180 degrees.

Next the sides, and middle sections,

And the final results!

We had so much fun making our own video about

Skin Testing.

First we researched about the importance of skin testing, how we do one and what could happen if you don't do one.

We even made up a little song!

Using a streaking cap.

We have been dying ( get it? Dyeing) to colour our block heads. Now we have completed our first uniform layer it was time to show us how to produce some capped highlights.

After demonstration we got underway.

Gently pulling the hair through the holes with a crochet hook.

Keep going until all the head is covered.

Next we mixed the bleach and peroxide using one scoop of bleach to two scoops of peroxide. There goes the maths again!

Make sure the hair is all covered.

Put on a processing cap and wait.

It's starting to lift.

Rinse and  put conditioner on the hair to help ease the cap off.

( but don't suffocate your client! as below)

Teamwork! 

Blow dry and see the different effects.

We enjoyed that.

Section the hair into 9 sections

Starting at the nape section, take a 5mm or half a centimetre section and weave some hair using your pintail comb.

Place the folded foil right up to the scalp.

Apply the colour or bleach about 5mm from the scalp to avoid seepage.

Take the end of the foil and take it up to the root area.

Holding the top with your fingers, use the tail comb to straighten the foil.

Use the comb part of the tail comb to make creases in both sides of the foil.

And fold the sides in.

Use the same method with all the other foils.

Until you are finished.

Step by step tutorial for hair conditioning treatments and the massages used 

Shampoo hair and section into 4 ( the hot cross bun section).

Apply the conditioner.

Start massaging, effleurage, petrissage, effleurage.

Put under steamer to open cuticles.

Give a good rinse and style as normal.

Learning how to style hair using rollers. Step by step tutorial.

We started something new today, how to style the hair using rollers instead of a hair dryer and brushes.

We had a step by step demonstration.

Take a section sized slightly less than the size of your roller. Comb and hold up 90 degrees from the scalp. Thats where the Maths comes in!

Making sure we wrap the ends of the hair smoothly round the roller, wind it down towards the scalp using our thumbs to keep the hair smooth. Wind down parallel to the scalp.

Once the ends are secure, hold the ends of the roller and wind down to the scalp keeping it parrallel.

Now it will 'sit' on it's own base!

Secure with a pin.

Make your next section. Keeping it neat and to the roller size.

Comb to ensure a smooth set and use rollers in same way.

All rollers shoud be touching each other.

Like this.

Once complete cover with a setting net and place under heat.

Once the hair is COMPLETELY dry ( remember those hydrogen bonds!)  the rollers can be removed.
