What would YOU like to practise was the theme this week.

Cutting, foiling blow drying and plaiting were chosen by the first group who decided that these were the areas they wanted to gain more confidence in.

Spatula!

We tried an alternative to to foiling today, SPATULA.

We sectioned, learnt what you can use it for and the spatula technique. 

First we used conditioner until we got used to it then we used colour so we could see what the effect was.

We were shown how to mix colour correctly using the scales and had to remember our maths lesson on ratios!  1-1, 1-2 and 1-1.5 

We love spatula, it's much quicker than foiling.

Foiling tutorial by Loni and Mamoona

Section the hair into 9 sections

Starting at the nape section, take a 5mm or half a centimetre section and weave some hair using your pintail comb.

Place the folded foil right up to the scalp.

Apply the colour or bleach about 5mm from the scalp to avoid seepage.

Take the end of the foil and take it up to the root area.

Holding the top with your fingers, use the tail comb to straighten the foil.

Use the comb part of the tail comb to make creases in both sides of the foil.

And fold the sides in.

Use the same method with all the other foils.

Until you are finished.

Foiling fun

I'm Our first lesson on foiling today! 

We loved it! We found out why we foil then after a demonstration on sectioning which we soon mastered, ( our maths helped!)  

we were shown how to weave, apply and fold the foils. 

We remembered our PPE and Lisa draw diagrams on the mirrors to help us. It really helped Leah.

Loni and Mamoona took charge of making a tutorial ( watch out for that blog post) 

We were kept very busy

And there was come good concentration faces!

And of course .... Laughter!

For our first time this is what we managed in two hours.
